AdBlue® is a registered trademark of the German Automobile Industry Association (VDA, Verband der Automobile industries).
A trademark that must be approved by the VDA and comply with the ISO22241 standard before it can be authorized for use.
It is called DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) in the United States and Canada, and the ISO scientific name is AUS32; in Taiwan, it is called catalytic reducing agent or automotive urea.

 

 

AdBlue® (vehicle urea solution/diesel exhaust gas treatment fluid/catalytic reducing agent) is a transparent solution composed of 32.5% high-purity urea and 67.5% deionized water. It is used in modern exhaust pollution control systems, referred to as SCR systems (Selective Catalytic Converters) ), the catalytic reducing agent (environmentally friendly vehicle urea solution) is stored in a dedicated storage barrel. It acts to combine with nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gas of diesel engine vehicles and convert nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water, which complies with the Phase IV to Phase VI environmental emission standards. If the AdBlue urea is used up, the vehicle will be unable to accelerate or even start.

Automobile urea solution AUS 32

Vehicle urea (AdBlue/DEF) is a special consumable for the SCR system of diesel vehicles (Phase IV to VI). It is composed of 32.5% high-purity urea and 67.5% deionized water. Its function is to convert nitrogen oxides (NOx) in diesel exhaust gas into nitrogen and water, reducing pollution. Usually it needs to be replenished after driving 5,000-8,000 kilometers. If it is missing, the vehicle engine will have limited horsepower or be unable to start.

⚠️ Precautions for use

  • Do not mix: The urea barrel is separated from the fuel tank. Never pour urea into the fuel tank, otherwise the engine will be damaged.
  • Where to add: Look for the blue cap or filler port labeled "AdBlue."
  • Do not use agricultural urea: Automobile-specific urea has extremely high purity requirements. Using industrial or agricultural urea will cause crystallization blockage in the SCR system and damage expensive catalysts.
  • Consumption reminder: When urea is insufficient, the instrument panel (OBD) will light up as a warning and should be replenished as soon as possible to avoid failure to start.
