In order to cope with the growing market demand for AdBlue® catalyst reducing agent (vehicle urea solution) in mainland China, Novavax worked hand in hand with its operating partner SEGLIAN MANUFACTURING GROUP, INC., and the new factory in Wuxi was officially put into production in April. The new factory is located in Wuxi Huishan Economic Development Zone, covering an area of approximately 10,000 square meters, and is expected to have a monthly production capacity of approximately 40,000 liters or more. The new Wuxi plant mainly provides services such as manufacturing, distribution and marketing of AdBlue® catalyst reducing agent (urea solution for automobiles).
At the same time, Nova will build an AdBlue® catalyst reducing agent experimental testing center in mainland China this year. The laboratory is equipped with high-standard testing equipment, including: Coupled Plasma Spectrometer ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) to ensure that the trace metal content in the AdBlue® ingredients produced locally in China is controlled within the standard range, and the quality is stable and ensures that the quality passes the DIN70070 / ISO22241 standard. Nova currently has two main factories in Kunshan and Wuxi in mainland China, and is expected to set up production bases in Tianjin, Shandong, Zhengzhou, Hefei, Changsha and other places. Within three years, there will be 20 production bases in mainland China.
Since 2008, in view of the increasingly serious haze caused by automobile pollution, China's government took the lead in implementing China IV diesel vehicle regulations (equivalent to EU IV) during the Olympic Games in Beijing and the Expo in Shanghai. If National IV is strictly implemented, it is assumed that a commercial vehicle using SCR technology requires an average of 1.2-1.5 tons of AdBlue® solution per year. The average annual growth rate of production from 2013 to 2018 is 10%, which is a conservative estimate. The demand can reach more than 7 million tons by 2018. Nova's supply infrastructure in mainland China is gradually improving. Through these innovative technologies and optimized services, Nova is ready to welcome the growth opportunities in the Chinese market.
