Discuss the impact of tight international urea supply on domestic urea supply
Since October, the Chinese government has imposed export controls on the raw materials for automotive urea, which has caused tensions in the supply of automotive urea in South Korea and caused urea prices to continue to soar. Many Korean transport truck drivers are worried that the shortage of urea will lead to the suspension of vehicles and put them at risk of losing their livelihoods. At present, governments around the world are facing raw material problems one after another, but have yet to find an effective solution.
Urea has a wide range of applications. More than 90% of urea is used in agriculture, but urea is also used in pharmaceutical, chemical, feed, textile and other industries. Urea for vehicles refers to a urea aqueous solution with a urea concentration of 32.5% and ultrapure water as the solvent. The raw materials are special raw materials for vehicle urea and ultrapure water. Diesel vehicles such as heavy-duty trucks and buses must use urea solution to treat nitrogen oxides in the exhaust in order to meet national exhaust emission standards.
China is the world's main supplier of urea products, accounting for 30% of the global export share. In 2020, China exported 5.45 million tons of urea, more than half of which was exported to India, and another 10.2%, or about 554,000 tons, was sold to South Korea. Korean media data shows that two-thirds of South Korea’s urea supply comes from Chinese manufacturers.

During the meeting, multi-directional communication was carried out in order to alleviate the problem of insufficient supply of urea for vehicles. It is hoped that through the power of the governmentPrevent freight from being paralyzed.
