Taiwan’s first hydrogen fuel commercial vehicle appears

In the past, when talking about new energy vehicles, in addition to electric vehicles, there were also renewable energy sources, biodiesel, etc. in Europe and the United States. Various new energy vehicles were often announced at large foreign exhibitions. In recent years, fuel cell vehicles are not only extremely popular, but also an excellent solution to solve transportation energy consumption in the future. The fuel cell (Fuel cell) concept car Vision F-CELL, which appeared in Taiwan for the first time, made its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2019. Later, due to the spread of the epidemic in 2020, the first overseas appearance was dedicated to Taiwan.

FUSO Vision F-CELL is a newly developed fuel cell vehicle that allows for longer driving range and faster charging. It has 129kw horsepower and a maximum range of 300 kilometers. It has the specifications of a 7.5-ton truck. Although F-Cell is still in the concept car stage, from the overall appearance and specifications, it is closer to the achievable future than other concept cars. The emergence of fuel cell vehicles is expected to stimulate relevant units to consider an additional option for energy conservation and carbon reduction in transportation energy, and also allow transportation operators to understand how fuel vehicles will be gradually replaced in the future.

For the first time at the auto show, Taiwan’s self-driving buses are on display

In recent years, the government has been vigorously promoting digital transformation, and has invested heavily in smart transportation and Internet of Vehicles. However, in the past, most of the information on smart transportation or Internet of Vehicles was limited to technology users. It was not until the attention of commercial vehicle journals in recent years that more technological applications of commercial vehicles were reported in depth and attracted the attention of transportation industry players. Therefore, the number of technology manufacturers related to smart transportation and Internet of Vehicles continues to increase at this exhibition. What is even more rare is that the Taichung City Government Transportation Bureau, the guiding unit of this exhibition, specially invited Taichung self-driving buses for trial use in Shuinan Smart City (cooperating units include: Industrial Research Institute, Dinghan International Engineering Consultants, Fengrong Passenger Transport, Wistron, Taiwan Digital Technology Group, etc.) to the on-site exhibition, allowing transportation operators to understand that self-driving is gradually being realized and will change the operating style of commercial vehicles in the future.

Spare parts and consumables Hundreds of new technological products released

Michelin, which announced eight large tires at the first Commercial Vehicle Expo in 2018, not only caused a sensation at the time, but also made transportation leaders understand the key to tire selection because of its professional technologies such as energy-saving tires. This year, Michelin not only created new exhibition specifications, but also delivered safe and durable product features with five innovative technologies, such as: infinite surround technology, steel wire reinforcement technology, hidden groove technology, liquid rubber mixing technology, and high-tensile nylon protective layer technology. Although these may not be fully understood literally, the venue will definitely make transportation leaders take a new look at Michelin tire technology. In addition, fleet tire management services such as those provided by Shengda Tire will remain one of the highlights at the exhibition. This year, companies such as Haoma Tire, which is the agent of Lutong Tire, and the same company, which is the agent of ALCOA forged aluminum rims, will announce their latest products at the same venue. In addition to tires and aluminum alloy steel rims, the number of exhibitors of spare parts and consumables has increased year by year. Among them, Zhisheng Trading, which has always exhibited parts from dozens of top European and American brands at the exhibition, not only released WABCO's new products to emphasize its safety technology, but also added an FH2 diesel carbon particulate filter cleaning machine to its exhibition.

MIT technology crystallization

Commercial vehicle expos in every field will dazzle the visitors, because the exhibition is not mainly about finished vehicles, but a variety of commercial vehicles, related MIT technology and excellent results of car body construction, allowing visitors to understand the diversity and professionalism of commercial vehicles. For example, in this year's cooperation with the Concrete Pressure Delivery Engineering Association, two of the latest concrete press delivery trucks will be on display, hoping to change the general public's established impression of engineering vehicles. Moreover, this manufacturer is truly a representative of Taiwan’s craftsmanship. It has been studying concrete pressure conveying engineering technology for nearly half a century. MIT’s technology can support the construction of Nanshan Breeze, the second tallest building in Taipei’s Xinyi District. Foreign bidders have to admire the in-depth foundation of Taiwan’s technology. In addition to concrete pressing trucks, there are also many technology manufacturers on site, such as Baolu Electronics, its high-speed multi-card ticket verification machine and multi-function driver indicator, etc., which are the best examples of MIT technology.

Cold chain logistics new look

In response to the ups and downs of the COVID-19 epidemic, cold chain transportation technology has become a hot topic since last year. This exhibition continues to cooperate with the Cold Chain Association. In addition to the refrigerated and refrigerated logistics vehicles displayed in the previous two exhibitions, or the three-zone temperature-controlled logistics vehicle released last year, newer secret weapons will also be displayed on site. Especially for the vaccine delivery at minus 70 degrees Celsius, which has been a hot topic in the media for several months, Cold Chain Logistics Zone/Tai Li Refrigerated Truck will provide the most professional solution. Satisfaction allows transportation leaders to understand how to use appropriate refrigerated trucks, which will not only keep up with the trend of the times, but also improve transportation quality to welcome more business opportunities.

Cooperation between government and academia, safety and education promotion

In addition to the dizzying announcements of new products, this year's expo also received assistance from the Ministry of Transport to open a "Commercial Vehicle Driving Safety Promotion Area" to display safety promotions such as wheel discs and driving blind spots. The Ministry of Transport will assist in providing Part B of large commercial vehicles for static display on site. Relevant layouts will be arranged and explanations will be provided on site. Welcome to the safety promotion area to learn about driving blind spots and related safety precautions from outside the cabin and from the driver's seat.

In addition to the safety promotion of large vehicles, the conference also opened a new vehicle function area. It is hoped that in the future, through the promotion of the China Commercial Vehicle Technology Development Association, more young people will be able to enter the professional field of commercial vehicles (this part is in cooperation with the Taiwan Vehicle Function Development Association).
