The Donghua Stadium shows the charming blue sky and green landscape under the sunshine, and also kicks off this event with the spirit of sustainability as its core. The "Blue Sky Green Land Cup" hosted by Nova Materials Technology once again invited professional players and amateur golfers from Changchun to communicate together this year, and the atmosphere was warm.

Yang Lianzhi, chairman and general manager of Nova Materials Technology, said that the name of the competition has been extended from the past "ESG Cup" to "Blue Sky Green Land Cup" to symbolize the two main axes of the company's sustainable layout: "Blue Sky" represents clean air; "Green Land" symbolizes reducing waste and promoting recycling.

Blue Sky: Sustainable Projects Starting from Vehicle Emission Improvement

Yang Lianzhi pointed out that Nova was the first to invest in sustainability and started from the "blue sky". The company has invested in commercial vehicle emission improvement technology since 2007, creating catalytic reductant (SCR reductant) from scratch to help large diesel vehicles reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and improve air quality. At the same time, Nova has also been deeply involved in the automotive urea (AdBlue/DEF) market for a long time, providing stable quality products to transportation operators, and becoming one of the important drivers of air pollution improvement in Taiwan.

"We hope to make Taiwan's air cleaner. This is the meaning of blue skies," Yang Lien-chi said.

Greenfield: The circular economy from mattress recycling to asphalt recycling

In addition to air quality, Nova also invests a lot of effort in the field of "green space". First, we promoted the "Mattress Decomposition and Reuse Project", using patented technology to dismantle discarded (old) mattresses, recycle iron parts, cotton batting and cloth scraps, and make high-value green building materials, becoming an important demonstration of Taiwan's circular economy.

Secondly, Nova Materials is also actively investing in recycled asphalt (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement, RAP) material layout, developing towards a low-carbon road building materials supply chain. Recycled asphalt technology not only effectively reduces the use of virgin asphalt by recycling existing road paving materials and reprocessing them, but also reduces carbon emissions and resource waste during the construction process, and reduces road project costs. Yang Lianzhi hopes that "the greenland business is not a transformation of a single product, but an upgrade of material thinking. We hope to further become a part of the green infrastructure solution by supplying raw materials." Yang Lianzhi emphasized that relevant technologies will not only be promoted in Taiwan in the future, but will also be deployed in overseas markets. "The blue sky and green land are like two wings, carrying Nova to fly farther in the direction of sustainability."

Changchun players × amateur golfers communicate on the same field

This event cooperates with the TSPGA and arranges for professional players to pair up with amateur golfers to compete on the same field. TSPGA Chairman Lu Chongbiao said that Yang Lianzhi has long supported Changchun players, charity activities and the development of Aboriginal baseball, and is a rare long-term investor in the local business community in Taoyuan.

"Director Yang is very visionary and caring. We also look forward to working with Nova to make the event bigger and better in the future." Lu Chongbiao said.

Yang Lianzhi also said that this tournament is not only an extension of the sustainability concept, but also allows Nova's customers, dealers and shareholders to gain the rare experience of playing in the same group as Changchun professional players. Through actual golf swings on the same field, they can have a deeper understanding of the technical details and sports charm of golf. "This kind of communication between professionals and amateurs will produce the effect of one plus one being greater than two."

He further said that if the company's public offering progresses smoothly, he will not rule out expanding the scale of the event into a multi-day official event in the future, so that the event will not only serve as an exchange, but also become a force to promote the development of golf in Taiwan, adding further support to the vision of sustainability and sports.

Lin Zhisheng: What enterprises give is not just funding, but opportunities

Lin Zhisheng, chairman of the Aboriginal Baseball Development Association, was also present to participate in the grand event. He laughed and said that he had a game today and couldn't leave, so he had to come to the test venue yesterday. Talking about Nova's years of support for the development of Aboriginal baseball, he said in a sincere tone: "What the native children lack most is not funds, but opportunities. Corporate sponsorship allows them to have enough to eat, have football equipment, go to games, and be seen. This is more important than anything else."

He also shared that baseball and golf actually have a lot in common, including focus, calmness, and the ability to face challenges alone. Therefore, many baseball players fall in love with golf.

"It's just that I haven't been able to play well recently because Director Yang doesn't have time to play with me." He added with a smile.

Sustainability × Sports × Create value together

From air pollution improvement, mattress recycling, asphalt recycling, to supporting Aboriginal baseball and promoting Changchun events, Nova Materials Technology makes "blue sky and green space" not just a slogan, but implemented in every aspect of technology research and development, industrial application and social participation.

The post-match dinner was held at the restaurant of the Donghua Stadium Club Hall. The awards were abundant and the atmosphere was warm. Golfers and players continued their good mood during the day in a relaxed communication. In the end, Chen Kunzong won the overall championship with a score of 72 that was comparable to professional standards; the top three net scores were won by Wu Zhihong, Yang Hongji and Lai Yanquan.

This day of playing golf under the blue sky and green land is not only an exchange of golf skills, but also an intersection of sustainable concepts, public welfare spirit and local emotions. As Yang Lianzhi said: "What we hope to do is not just to compete, but to let more people see the blue sky and walk into the green space."
