Nova Technologies announced that we have joined the "Tsui River Convention" in response to the "World Magazine" "Water Basin Sharing Good" project!
According to the United Nations World Water Development Report
● COVID-19 has exacerbated the urgent need for clean drinking water for billions of people.
● In 2050, 1 billion urban people around the world will face water shortages.
● 80~90% of the world's wastewater is discharged into the environment without treatment.
● Carbon emissions from wastewater treatment account for 3~7%.
Taiwan is surrounded by the sea and has abundant water resources. The average annual rainfall is about 2,500 mm, which is 3.5 times the world’s average rainfall of 700 mm. But why are we still often short of water and afraid to drink water directly from the tap?
The reason is "water pollution".
Taiwan is still dominated by the manufacturing industry, and many companies have failed to implement sewage treatment, causing waste (sewage) water containing a large number of chemical substances to be discharged directly into rivers.
How long can a small island and several rivers endure?
Therefore, Nova Technologies responds to the "Water Basin Sharing Good" campaign, focusing on Taoyuan Old Street Creek, showing support through actions, and is expected to hold a "River and Wetland Walk" on August 3, so that we can contribute to the recovery of water resources.
Nova Technology promises to do the following things for Laojiexi:
① Encourage employees to actively participate in the public governance of the Laojie River Basin and be responsible corporate citizens of the water system.
② Use influence to drive customers and the supply chain to take immediate action, adopt high-standard waste (sewage) water treatment processes, and reduce construction waste.
③ Connect with local governments and organizations in Taoyuan to conduct watershed tours.
None of us hope that one day pure water will become a luxury.
∞ Corporate social responsibility, Nova is never absent ∞
